Golf Clubs

Health and Safety is increasingly at the core of modern club management. The SGU is promoting the services of The Xact Group to assist in the establishment of good standard operating procedures for golf clubs throughout Scotland.

Xact work with a large number of Golf Clubs throughout the UK and provide expert advice in all H&S related issues.

Clubs engaging Xact will receive the following support.

Health and Safety Service

Outline of our Core Service to members is as follows:

1. A full implementation service where Xact will work with the Responsible Person(s) within the golf club to complete all of the:

• Various Policy Statements
• Risk Assessments specific to that Golf Club. ie Club House, Kitchen, Pro – Shop, Course,
• Greenkeeping and Maintenance Area
• Control Actions arising out of the Risk Assessments
• Risk Profiles and Action Plan

Xact will provide the necessary training on Health & Safety issues and all of the above information will be recorded in writing and contained within separate Manuals provided by Xact.

• For the Clubhouse including the Kitchens
• For the Course and Greenkeeping activities
• For the Pro – Shop and other retail activities

These will form the basis of the Club's Safety Management System.

2. An audit and management service where Xact will work with the Responsible person(s) within the Golf Club to monitor and review the control measures and the Safety Management System established.  This will comprise:

• Regular reviews of progress in implementation of control measures (off-site)
• Further visit(s) to the Club to audit and review the Safety Management System with the responsible person(s).
• Additional training material, updates on legislation or any other relevant issues will be provided on a bi-monthly basis.

Our Implementation and Audit/Review Service is supported by

1. The provision of employee handbooks
2. Liaison with the Health and Safety Executive or if appropriate the relevant Local Authority on any issue or problem
3. On site attendance/representation in the event of a serious accident or incident
4. An Indemnity providing the Club with cover in the event of a Health and Safety Prosecution. (Optional)

All services are supported by the Provision of a 24 hour/365 day Expert Helpline.  Our advisors have access to the Club's Safety Management System and the action plan and control measures recorded and are able to give specific assistance relevant to the Golf Club.

The system is bespoke to golf clubs and priced very competitively.
